Boxing Class Structure
Scrap any ideas you have about beating a punching bag by yourself. FitFunBoxing is very much a social exercise session and participants will work with a partner. It’s about like-minded people getting together in a fun, friendly atmosphere, punching their fitness to another level. But don’t let the gloves fool you; it’s also a balance of pad-work, bodyweight exercises and functional movement. We combine a cardio workout with boxing drills, interval training and ‘combination training’ to help you get the most out of your session. The class uses the entire body, which enables more calories to be burned.
Boxing Session Basics
There are three primary moves to employ: jabs which are straight forward punches, uppercuts have you punching upwards, and hooks encourage the body to twist tightening up those core muscles. When you’re not hitting the pads, you’re ducking, sliding, and weaving in and out, squatting or lunging to strengthen and tone the glutes and leg muscles.
Hitting the pads releases inbuilt tension, stress, and anger brought about by daily external demands placed on us. What an opportunity to get a sweat on while ‘taking the bull by the horns’ and clearing your path. FitFunBoxing is suitable for all fitness and ability levels. Boxing doesn’t have to be a serious activity and we are firm believers that it can be fun, energetic and effective. With this class set at the beginning of the working week, it’s a perfect way to get your week off to a great start.
