Deptford Couch To 5k + FitFunStrengthCamp
Hosted by FitFunActive and now running at Charlottenburg Park (SE14 6LH) near Deptford and New Cross, this 10-week community programme blends beginner-friendly jogging sessions with a brand-new element: bodyweight strength exercises to help you build muscle, improve strength, and boost overall fitness.
What’s Included In The Deptford Couch To 5K
Our experienced coaches guide you through a progressive plan that starts with short jogs and walk breaks, gradually building up to a 5K run. We’re also introducing a new strength and conditioning component this season — think squats, lunges, core work, and bodyweight drills that support your running and long-term fitness goals.
What You Can Expect:
- 🗓️ Weekly group sessions every Thursday at 6:30pm, from June 5th to August 7th
📋 A clear programme to follow between sessions
🏋️♀️ Bodyweight strength circuits introduced in stages throughout the 10 weeks

Is Deptford Couch To 5K For Me?
Absolutely — this course is designed for complete beginners. No prior running or strength experience is necessary. Whether you’re coming back after time off, or starting fresh, we’ll help you build confidence and develop a routine that sticks.
We do ask participants to:
- ✅ Commit to the full programme by attending at least 8 of the 10 sessions
⏱️ Try to complete at least one additional workout each week, guided by our programme
💪 Be open to trying both running and basic strength movements.

By signing up for this programme, you agree that we may record elements of the sessions (photos and video) to use on our social media platforms. We aim to capture the community spirit and inspiring progress of the group. If you have any concerns, feel free to speak to a coach in advance.
How to Register:
Our Deptford Couch to 5K course is free, but we limit spots to 100 participants. You must attend the first three sessions and complete at least 80% of the course.
